Located in eastern Singapore, close to the Changi International Airport, Tampines Grande comprises 33,600 sqm of commercial and office space spanning over two wings of 8 storeys. Dragages Singapore was appointed the design-and-build contractor for these two 8-storey office buildings with underground car parks.
Tampines Grande was the first building in Singapore to achieve the Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED) Gold award. Dragages Singapore spearheaded a number of green innovations in the development of energy-efficient solutions, below are some of these cutting-edge solutions:
- Insulation, building envelope – green roofs and 150 sqm of photovoltaic cells on the façade
- Heating / ventilation / air conditioning – 1,160 sqm of vacuum-tube water-heating panels for solar air-conditioning. Improved air quality with filtration and disinfection with cold plasma
- Electricity – 940 sqm of photovoltaic solar power panels. Lighting management system equipped with light and motion detection.
- Water – rainwater recovery system for watering with independent connection to the non-potable water network for supply.
The Tampines Grande was awarded the Building and Construction Authority (BCA) Green Mark Award (Platinum) in 2008 and the LEED Gold Award in 2010, a testament to Dragages Singapore’s commitment to environmental protection and innovation. The design and construction of the Tampines Grande also saw the successful implementation of a solar-powered air-conditioning system. Being renowned as sustainable buildings, Tampines Grande has a 33% improvement of energy efficiency as compared to regular code-compliant buildings.
